BWO Nymphs - by Reno Trout Envy

Ok, I'm a fly fishing/tying blog junkie, and I love midges, I especially love fly tying blogs about midges - and I love it when the flies are nicely photographed. This blog Reno Trout Envy has a beautiful BWO Nymph on it today - in two colors - grey and olive. Nice little ties.

He also has a tutorial on his Grey Winter Midge which looks very effective as well.

Brandon, this gray bwo fly is simply an updated version of what I originally called the "gray winter midge fly." Though I'm sure the old pattern is still effective as a midge or a bwo (and simpler to tie!), I instead stock this updated version and find it to be most effective during bwo hatches. I originally tied it to imitate midges but realized that it didn't work well when there weren't bwo's about-- thus it has evolved into the bwo nymph that you see here :-)

thanks for checking them out!

Cheers
