Eagle River, a little winter fishing.

Did pretty well in a few hours between my son's hockey games in the Vail Tournament.  These fish were amazing and fun to catch.  Not much fight, a little lethargic, but still fun to catch.

Muskegon River, Michigan - May 3, 2018

Fished the Muskegon on Thursday - great new water - flows about 5,000 cfs - which was tough wading.

Fished with an old buddy of mine - great opportunity to experence new water and see an old friend.

I caught 1 small 8" brown - nothing spectacular - but did see lots of hens and male steelhead. 

Wish I was a little better at the chuck and duck technique.

FOTW - Beldar Rubber Leg Bugger

I like these!  Saw this on Anglers All. 

Our friends at Solitude Fly Company came up with their own version of a cone head Bugger, aptly named Beldar, in recognition of a popular Saturday Night Live skit that featured their own "Coneheads". Solitude continued to morph the Beldar with rubber legs, duo-tone marabou tails, a Crystal Chenille body, and dyed spotted Guinea Feathers. Despite it's gaudy appearance, the Beldar Rubber Leg Bugger has found good success within our Western waters. The rubber legs provide plenty of action and the dyed Guinea Feathers give a mottled appearance to the body that has been a proven attractor element.
